Paris / Munich, October 15th, 2024 – Hi inov, a leading Franco-German venture capital firm, expands its team with Rainer Witzgall as Venture Partner Cybersecurity / Cyberdefence. Hi inov is thereby expanding its core segments to include cybersecurity / cyberdefence.
Rainer Witzgall has over 15 years of experience in cybersecurity. He is the founder and CEO of adyton Cybersecurity, a leading technology scouting company for innovative cybersecurity technologies. Previously, he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) of Avira, the largest German company in the IT security industry, which was later acquired by NortonLifeLock. Rainer established himself as a cyberdefence expert by developing successful go-to-market and marketing strategies for innovative cybersecurity providers in the USA, Israel and EMEA. In his role, Rainer is in regular dialogue with CIOs and CISOs across Europe to share his insights on network security, intelligence feeds, or identity and access management. In addition to his expertise, his extensive relationships with these experts, vendors and venture capitalists in the cybersecurity space are a great asset to Hi inov.
With a degree in engineering, complemented by his studies at the University of St. Gallen, Rainer brings a deep technical understanding. As the person responsible for identifying cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies, he also promotes strategic partnerships for Hi inov’s portfolio companies.
Dr Wolfgang Krause, Managing Partner at Hi inov, expects a lot from the collaboration with Rainer Witzgall: ‘Rainer not only looks back on an impressive career, but has also had a significant impact on the cybersecurity landscape.
